Meet Khalyn

Dr. Khalyn Solomon is a pediatric speech-language pathologist providing services to children in both the school and private practice setting. Her clinical experience includes treating clients with language delays/disorders, voice and fluency disorders, articulation disorders, Autism, and intellectual disabilities including Down syndrome. Khalyn is passionate about helping her clients achieve their communication goals; thus, making a positive impact on the lives of themselves and their loved ones. 

Khalyn received her B.A. in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology from North Carolina A&T State University, her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University, and her Clinical Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology (SLPD) from Northwestern University. She has received numerous awards during her graduate studies including “Most Outstanding First Year Clinician” and the “College Leadership Award”. At Northwestern, Khalyn’s culminating research project focused on “Guiding Speech and Language Assessment Principles for Underserved Pediatric Populations”. The project offered an in-depth look into what current speech-language diagnostic practices may be affecting intervention qualifications and opportunities for the underserved pediatric community. She is passionate about advocating for the equal rights of all children within the speech and language profession.  

Recently, Khalyn launched The Speech Exchange and Language Therapy, Inc. The Speech Exchange is a pediatric private practice offering screenings, consultations, comprehensive assessments, and speech therapy in Metropolitan Los Angeles — San Gabriel Valley and San Bernardino County. Therapists offer high quality and family-centered in-home therapy services with individual treatment plans tailored to fit every child’s specific needs. The Speech Exchange’s goal is to provide fun, motivating, and most of all, functional therapy to begin transformation for every child.

Along with The Speech Exchange, Khalyn serves as an adjunct professor at her alma mater, North Carolina A&T State University. At NC A&T, she teaches “Introduction to Speech-Language Pathology” and “Speech Communications”.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, this is Khalyn’s fourth year living in Southern California. She enjoys traveling, trying different restaurants, and exploring new and exciting places here in the Golden State.
